Markman Children's Programs is a private nonprofit 501 (c) 3 child care agency. Our mission is to provide quality, affordable child care to all families. Established in 1972, the agency has expanded services over the years to meet the varied needs of families and currently offer programs for children ages four weeks to sixth grade in two center based sites and a Family Child Care System. Our many years of experience in providing early childhood services is a strength of our agency, giving us expertise in providing a quality program for children, and in developing supportive relationships with our families. Center based programs are open 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and operate year round. Transportation to and from homes and area schools is provided based upon need with our agency vans and a mini-bus. Our current capacity is just over two-hundred and sixty children.
Markman Children's Programs is in a Capital Campaign, with the goal of constructing a new facility at 803 North Main Street. Phase I has begun with occupancy expected in mid-July, and will allow all preschool, kindergarten and one schoolage classroom to relocate to a building designed for the needs of young children. Phase II will be built within 3 years, and will allow the relocation of the remainder of our Schoolage classrooms.
Congressman James McGovern, Representative Betty Poirier, and Senator Scott Brown have attended agency events to learn of our future building plans, and have pledged their support.
